Our mission has been blessed by two visits from the Area Presidency within three weeks' time. We wrote earlier about the visit of Pres. Porter and his wife to the West Zones (Siberia). Just recently, we had a wonderful visit from President and Sister Bennett to Vladivostok. President Bennett is the First Counselor in the Area Presidency.
President Bennett's visit was just 48 hours (a whirlwind!), but it was an uplifting experience for all of us.
After the Bennett's were picked-up from the airport, we drove them to Mission Leadership Council. Oki Doki (okey dokey) Pizza is the favorite pizza place in Vlad. We love the beautiful smiles of our missionaries!
On Saturday, an all-day Zone Conference was held. Missionaries from the North Zones (Khabarovsk and Sakhalin) and the South Zones (Vladivostok, Artyom, Ussuriysk, and Nakhodka) were in attendance as were our wonderful senior couples: Elder and Sister Lamb, Elder and Sister Vesalovi, Elder and Sister Anderson, and Elder and Sister Johnson.

Here President Bennett asked Elders Brown and Johnsen and Elders Luke and Mateer (back) to do a role-play. Sisters Peters, Hill, Nash, and Handley listen intently.
President Brinton and President Bennett teach new concepts to the missionaries. Elders Shepherd, Niederhauser and Luekenga are pictured.
On Sunday, a special two-hour conference was held in Vladivostok. President and Sister Brinton and President and Sister Bennett spoke along with two Russian-speaking missionaries and two recent converts called out of the congregation spontaneously by Pres. Bennett. The meeting was incredible and the members, investigators, and new converts in attendance felt greatly blessed for attending.
After the conference, a delicious buffet lunch was served-up by Elder Huntsman (right) and Elder Anderson...
...while Sister Huntsman kept the juice cups filled.
Elder and Sister Vesalovi (senior couple in Artyom) spear-headed the luncheon which fed 136 members of the church from Artyom, Ussuriysk, and Vladivostok! They did a superb job!
After lunch, a beautiful baptism was held. Many conference-goers attended the baptism held in the Vlad Branch building. Two elders from Artyom, Elder T. Walker and Elder Murphy stand with new convert just before the baptism. It was the perfect way to conclude a very inspiring 48 hours.
We are so grateful to the Bennett's for their visit to our mission. We learned so much about how to be better missionaries and more fully consecrate ourselves so that we can reap the harvest the Lord wants us to have.
