A baptism, a service project, and wonderful office couple!

On Saturday, Sister Gates and Dorshieva had another baptism in Vlad. That's two weeks in a row!!

The participants on the baptismal program all wore shades of lavender (it was not planned, but gave a harmonious effect). The Relief Society president (left) always gives a white rose to the new convert.
The Canyon Road Ward of the Salt Lake Ensign Stake did a service project to benefit children in the Russia Vladivostok mission. Here Sister Ludmilla, Sister Gates, Elder Owens, Elder Ward, and Sister Dorshieva unload all the wonderful handmade items made by the Relief Society of the Canyon Road Ward for the children.
They were delivered to Children's Hospital in Vladivostok. Even though we were not able to personally deliver them to the children (Russian law), the nurses were very grateful to receive the items.
Here are some of the children's knit hats, scarves, mittens, baby booties...the list goes on. We are very grateful to the people of the Salt Lake Canyon Road Ward for their kindness and generosity in making these beautiful articles of clothing. It will certainly be a blessing to the lives of the children here.
Here is a picture of our wonderful office couple, Elder and Sister Chandler, sitting beneath a framed copy of the Proclamation on the Family. This proclamation was done in exquisite hand calligraphy by Dianne Miller of Alpine, Utah and given as a gift to President and Sister Brinton. The Chandlers do a great job in our mission office. They are an example of the "Proclamation" having been happily married for almost 54 years! We appreciate the many things they do to help the mission run smoothly!

  1. Congratulations on another Baptism. It's amazing to see how consistent the Baptisms are coming. Many prayers are being answered for all of you. Thank you for your diligence and examples. Elder and Sister Chandler are incredible examples to me. I was able to spend time with them before returning home from Vladivostok. They took great care of me. :)
