Mission Leadership Council meets once a month to discuss the goals and business of the mission. It is made up of 9 Zone Leaders, 4 Sister Training Leaders, 2 Assistants, and President and Sister Brinton. Seven of the leaders fly to this meeting each month...five of them from as far away as Boston is to San Francisco!
MLC starts around 11 a.m. when all have arrived from their 9 destinations. At 12:30 p.m. we break for lunch. After lunch, the meeting continues until 5 p.m. at which time several return back to the airport to catch their planes back to their zones!!

Four sister training leaders are Sisters Jennings, Trunina, Watts, and Handley.
Each team of 2 Zone Leaders and Sister Trainers role play discussions with investigators. Above are Elders Shepherd (Angarsk) and Jewkes (Ussuriysk).
Elders Elwood (Vladivostok) and Schneider (AP)...
Elders Johnsen (Khabarovsk) and Niederhauser (AP)...
Elders Ostler (Nakhodka) and Raymond (Sakhalin)...
Elder Laursen (Ulan-Ude) skyped into the meeting as he would not have been able to return back to his zone in time for church. His is the farthest zone to get to from Vladivostok!
MLC is a time of recommitting to high goals in the mission. The leaders set the baptismal and sacrament meeting goals in the meeting and receive counsel and instruction from President and Sister Brinton. They also discuss challenges and ways to solve problems. They, in turn, share all the information from the meeting with their zones in an upcoming district meeting. (Zones and Districts are one and the same in this mission. The weekly meeting is referred to as District Meeting.) The Sister Training Leaders add a wonderful dimension to the MLC discussions each month. The meeting ends with each leader sharing his/her testimony and "5 Things They Want to Do Better".
