Three missionaries return home...one arrives!

But first, let us introduce Hailey Parker, our 16th grandchild, born to our daughter Stephanie and her husband. Sister Brinton was blessed to be able to be at the birth of this precious little one. Unlike mission presidents who do not leave the boundaries of their missions for three years, except for Mission Presidents' Seminars or Visa trips, mission wives can with permission attend a special event such as the birth of a grandchild, wedding, or funeral. It was a joyful experience to welcome Hailey!

However, Sister Brinton was sad to not be here for the departure of three of our terrific missionaries: Elder Breeze, Elder Fletcher, and Sister Wilson (see post below). The missionary photos are courtesy of our office elders.

Elder Breeze, from Midway, Utah returned home on January 2. He will be attending Utah State University. Elder Breeze is known for his friendly manner. He made friends wherever he went. Elder Breeze is a fine artist and used his artistic talent on the mission. He will be missed!
Elder Fletcher of Eagle Mountain, UT  and Sister Wilson of La Crescenta, CA  returned home on January 8. They are both wonderful missionaries! Elder Fletcher is always kind to people and has a ready, engaging smile. Sister Wilson's beautiful operatic voice was the means of connecting with several people who joined the church after first hearing her sing in the park. We will miss these fine missionaries and wish them  all the best in their futures.
Elder Breeze, Sister Wilson, and Elder Fletcher's tie-scarf-tie on the Wall of Fame.
There are now 50 missionaries who have served and departed the Russia Vladivostok Mission during our tenure so far. Each one is very special to us. This is the "Wall of Fame" with ties and scarves representing each one of those missionaries.
On January 22, Elder Mateer arrived in our mission from the United Kingdom. (York) His father is from Ireland and his mother is from Scotland. Elder Mateer is the youngest of four sons in his family. He is eager and ready to serve the Lord in our mission! (We love his British/Russian accent when he speaks!!!)
At the airport with Elder Mateer!
