On August 8, the new missionaries and their trainers gathered at the mission home for Training.
It was a happy and uplifting occasion!
Three of our trainers, Elders Breeze and Shepherd in Ulan-Ude and Elder Fuhriman in Irkutsk joined us by Skype.
Elders Adams and Gentry (foreground) and Elders Ibragimov and Howe did a "getting to know you activity"
Elders Luke and Vandygriff discussed missionary goals...
...as did Sisters Hill and Ferguson.
Sister Allison, Sister Wilson, and Sister Nash attended along with Elder Laughlin whose companion joined him by Skype.
Elder Vasil'ev and Elder Hinkson share ideas while Elder Salamatin (eyes blinked when photo was taken) talked with his trainer by Skype.
Our new Russian sister, Sister Gerasimova stands with her trainer, Sister Allison. Joining them are Sister Ferguson and our terrific mission driver, Zhenya.
Elder Laughlin asks questions of his trainer, Elder Shepherd.
On departure day to various zones, missionaries flying to the farthest outreaches of the mission consolidate their two suitcases into one. The other suitcase is stored at the mission office for future use.
Elders Luke, Jaeckel, Howe, Salamatin and Sisters Hill, Gerasimova, and Nash enjoy lunch in between training sessions.
Elder Salamatin who will serve in Siberia, models his warmest clothing for the cold winter months ahead.
