The Nakhodka Four...Elders Barney, Gunnell, Clark, and Ward
On Saturday, July 28, our assistants joined us for a 4-hour drive to Nakhodka. It is a charming town with a strong military presence. The people here are friendly and gracious. I paired with the Relief Society President to visit less active women. It was wonderful to meet so many who had once been active. We invited them to come back to church. The next day, one of the less active sisters came. It was wonderful to see her feel of the spirit in the meetings. She had a big smile on her face and said she would try to come each Sunday. Nakhodka is our smallest branch in the mission and is made up almost entirely of women. There are two Melchizedek priesthood holders here. Our elders are finding men and families to teach. Soon we will have a pair of sister missionaries to assist in the work. Our senior couple, the Prices were so kind to have dinner for us and all the missionaries. They take good care of our amazing elders who are here: Elder Ward, Elder Clark, Elder Gunnell, and Elder Barney. Our drive home took almost 7 hours due to the fact that it was Navy Day. The road was bumper to bumper virtually the entire drive home, but we made it! We love the people of the Nakhodka Branch and know that growth is going to take place there.
I am particularly fond of these Elders and love the enthusiasm I feel through Elder Clark's letters home each week. Our prayers for all and especially the men awaiting the message the Elders are bringing :-)
